Ahhh this is officially the best time of the year! Any sports fan will tell that the possibilities of players moving from teams that you hate to teams that you love is way above anything else in sports. These moments are the best when not considering actual games being played.
First order of business has to go to the NBA trade deadline and upcoming free agency. The two names being talked about by everyone are Derron Williams and Dwight Howard. Dwight Howard might turn down 30 extra million dollars to stay but in Orlando, or he can test out greener pastures. The Orlando Magic have been shopping Howard potentially to the LA Lakers or New Jersey Nets. He would go to the Lakers to pair up with Kobe, but the lakers might have to give up their raising star Bynum who still has a lot of upside. The trade to the Nets is looking more and more unlikely because their center Lopez is sidelined 3-4 weeks with a reoccurring ankle injury. So what all this means is that Dwight will enter free agency in the summer time. If this happens he is most likely going to sign with the Dallas Mavericks. Derron Williams has also expressed that he would love to go back to his hometown and play for the Dallas Mavericks alongside the perennial all-star Dirk Nowitzki and Dwight Howard. If all things pan out Dallas looks to be a dangerous title contender once more.
Another interesting name being thrown around lately is Peyton Manning.
Yes the Moses to the city of Indianapolis is taking his talents elsewhere after team owner Jim Irsay said no way to a 28 million dollar roster bonus. It is hard to imagine Peyton wearing some other colors other than blue and white. The leaders to sign the competitive veteran are the Denver Broncos and Miami Dolphins. Both teams are looking for a boost at quarterback, please don’t start on Tebowmania. If the Broncos were to get Manning it would take them from a mediocre 8-8 team to a powerhouse instantly in the AFC.
